Every1 wins a free download…

My latest offering to you is a revision of Hot Chocolate’s excellent Every1’s a Winner - a tune that I must admit is a bit of a guilty pleasure… but it’s a brilliant tune all the same. I’ve beefed it up with a bit of fresh percussion, teased out some of the vocals and bass, and held off on that famous guitar riff until midway through. I think it’s turned out well, and it’s all yours in exchange for a few clicks!

New music… this is my Jam!

After my recent release on Robotical Grooves, I’m back on the same label with another one. This one’s called Han Jammer, and is based on Jan Hammer’s Crockett’s Theme from Miami Vice. I know, the original is absolutely cheese-tastic, but I’ve used that riff sparingly and added some new melody parts and some crunchy 303 acid to make something totally new. It’s on pre-order on Traxsource now and will be available on other platforms in a few weeks.

The Funkier Sounds radio show turns 5

My little radio show hit the ripe old age of five earlier this month! I started it as a simple Soundcloud upload way back in 2019, it moved to radio during Covid and I'm still doing it now. To mark the occasion I bagged an extra special guest mix from one of my favourite producers, master of funky beats, Sam Redmore! Sam treats us to an unmissable, exclusive and eclectic mix…

The most recent episode was a good one too, with a very nice guest mix from slow motion extraordinaire Ben Jamin. His mix starts off at a sub 100BPM chug and builds nicely through the second half. Well worth a listen!

Join me for some disco in the sun?

London folk - I've got a very exciting gig coming up next weekend! I'm playing for the amazing Fever105 at Brixton Radio HQ on 1st June. I'm alongside a quite frankly amazing line up of some of London's best DJs including Faro, Arnie Wrong, Disco Exotic, Chris Wheatley, Sugarloaf and my mate Clint H. Tickets are only a fiver right now, and all tickets include a glass of Inferno Punch!! Fingers crossed for sunshine as they’ve got an outdoor space, but I can guarantee that the tunes will be on point all day. I’d bloody love to see you there!

Gem of the Month

Some old school hip hop flavoured vibes for this month’s gem - Fresh by Tyrone Brunson from the early 80s. Sparse drums, a scratched James Brown sample, some wibbly synths and of course some very very funky slap bass. This one’s simple but oh so effective.
