Free download of my edit of Folamour's new track

got to go funk

My latest freebie is an edit of my favourite DJ in the world, Folamour. His new tune is lovely and all, but not quite my level of funkiness. So I cut it up, increased the BPM, slapped a big bassline on it and even stuck a bit of 303 in too. The result is called Got To Go Funk, and you can have it totally free by clicking below. PS - any excuse to show this pic of when I met the big man himself at ADE!

Funkier Radio hits a century!

fr100

My radio show hit the lovely milestone of 100 episodes this week! What started out as something just uploaded to Soundcloud is now broadcast on internet radio worldwide and has played host to some absolutely fantastic guests. Speaking of which, to mark the occasion I invited top DJ and producer Delfonic from Berlin to lay down a very classy set indeed. The fact that I was almost unable to broadcast this episode due to a Mac meltdown last week (which is still making my life difficult me to this day) made it all the sweeter. Here's to another hundred or two!

U&I out now on Sundries

U&I

I've got a new track out! I'm really excited to make an appearance on one of my favourite labels - Igor Gonya's Sundries Digital. U&I is another one of my housed up bangers, this time flipping Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway's beautiful song Back Together Again into a totally different vibe. It's out on Traxsource now and is coming to Spotify and all the rest in a week. I'm beyond thrilled to release on such a well-respected label.

Festival Focus - Westival

westival

Over the next few months I'll be shining a light on some UK festivals that I think deserve your attention. First up is the critically acclaimed Westival, which is taking place in July down on the Pembrokeshire coast in lovely Wales. They've just announced their incredible first phase line featuring talent from across the electronic spectrum including Tech Support, Poly-Ritmo, Alex Virgo and tons more. The funkier end of things is well represented too with the Mas Que Nada bros, vinyl wizard Kirollus... and keep an eye out for a certain yours truly who may be cropping up on the phase 2 line up...! 😎 Group tickets start at only a hundred quid which is an absolute steal - get on it people!

Gem of the Week

Here's a fantastically funky little slice of boogie goodness from 1981. Held up by some solid conga playing and a fantastic slap bass guitar line, we've got some luscious horns and a nice guitar jangle going on too. I'm loving shining a light on some of these lesser known 80s gems!

Alrighty, I'll catch you soon. Keep that funk alive.
