Gem of the Week
A new free download from me
I tried to edit this amazing tune a while back but I don't think I was quite able to do it justice, so I've revisited it and hopefully made a better job of it. It's such an irresistibly joyous tune, so I just had to try and make a version that would fit better in my faster paced sets. Please help yourself to a free download :)
Borderline time!
This Saturday the 4th March I'm going to be back at Borderline in Surbiton, sharing the decks with my good friends and Disco Waltons buddies Greg Middleton and Pete Ellison. Borderline is a small, friendly and truly wonderful little suburban club night that Greg has lovingly created, and you can expect to hear originals, edits, remixes, bootlegs and mashups of songs you know and love. It's an eclectic affair, but all about the floorfillers. I can't wait to spin some sweet tunes, and would love if you could make it.
Funkier Radio with Late Night Disco
My latest radio show featured a lovely guest mix from London-based pair Late Night Disco. I had the pleasure of meeting them recently, and I'm thrilled to get them on the show - these guys know a thing or two about good quality disco music. Their set is smooth, funky and delicious... and I highly recommend you check it out
Festival focus: El Dorado
So I'm not playing at this one (I tried - maybe next year?), but I wanted to post about it because the line up is just that good. There's a host of funky delights to be found, from the classic tunes of KC & The Sunshine Band to modern day greats like Crazy P, Mr Scruff, O'Flynn, Dan Shake and Mr Scruff. Loads of other good stuff from across the electronic spectrum too... what a line up! 😍
Gem of the Week
Making a change from my usual 80s gems we head all the way back to 1971 for this one, for a lovely flute-based tune from Burning Spear. There's not loads to this one - it's a simple affair, but it works very nicely indeed. And it's got the obligatory break with a bit that's been sampled too.
Be well, be nice, and I hope to see you again soon.
