The latest instalment of Evening Funkier

ef115

Although my livestream took a break this week, I did a really fun one last week - a fast paced affair taking in disco, disco house and housier bangers from Hotmood, Jet Boot Jack, Sylvester, Duck Sauce, Fouk and a few of my own. Love having a different vibe each time… Sometimes I barely get above 100bpm, but for this one I went in - started at 126bpm and worked up from there. Listen back!

Funkier Radio 101

fr101

Funkier Radio episode 101 went out the day before Valentine's Day, and we were treated to a special love-themed mix by top bloke Dez La Rock. I also had my usual fun time mixing up all sorts of funky goodness in the first hour. Hit the link to listen...

I'm doing a gig

for funk sake

I've got a couple of nice gigs coming up for any London-based folk. The first one is For Funk Sake at Cottons Club in Shoreditch on Saturday 25th Feb and is the first ever night put on by DJ crew Biffa. This night is going to be all about the feel good funky house and disco vibes, and I'll be playing a special extended 3 hour set of the funkiest tunes in my collection. Tickets are only a fiver and you can grab them below

...and another gig!

borderline

Then a week later on 4th March I'll be heading to the bright lights of Surbiton once again to make my return to the excellent Borderline, alongside my disco brothers Pete Ellison and Borderline creator Greg Middleton. Last time was a whole lotta fun, and I'm absolutely over the moon that Greg has invited both of us back for round 2. It's a small but perfectly formed club night taking in a whole variety including disco, hip hop, old school house and lots of funky floorfillers. Get your tickets here…

Gem of the Week

Another slice of solid gold from the early 80s, I've got a lot of love for this one - the divine Nothing Can Hold Us Back by Jerry Knight. Pure joy, mellow vibes, lovely funky bass and a positive message. This one's a regular in my sets.

Take care of yourself and speak soon,

Tom xx
